OTC studied several new TOD concepts in SkyCity, the commercial development at the north part of HKIA, including:
3 new budget hotels on a podium consisting of a new 1,200-stall carpark for AsiaWorld Expo (AWE); a new Public Transport Interchange (PTI); pedestrian walkways connecting to AWE and Terminal 2; commercial facilities; and consolidated loading/unloading for the entire site.
An outlet mall to be located at the current golf course site, with pedestrian links to Terminal 2 and the transport facilities at the proposed hotel site and AWE, as well as direct road connection to the nearby new border crossing facilities at the landing of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.
