Metro Station Intermodal Integration

OTC led a study for improving pedestrian accessibility and intermodal connectivity at planned new Metro stations in Chennai, including links to a suburban rail, a proposed BRT line, buses, and auto rickshaws as well as parking for cars and 2-wheel transportation. The study interfaced with a parallel study for improving the infrastructure for pedestrians and bicycles in the station areas.
As part of the study, OTC proposed improvements to the current station designs to facilitate better station access and provide a higher Level of Service to commuters.
