Railway Station Intermodal Integration
Ji’an, China
OTC developed a master plan for the area surrounding the existing rail station in Ji’an, Jiangxi Province. Integrated facilities are planned for BRT and local bus, taxi, private cars, bicycles and motorbikes.
The proposed design connects the different elevations of the station area and provides for all passenger journeys within a contiguous pedestrianized zone. Road and curb alignments in the station area are adjusted to allow smooth vehicular flows for all modes, and staging areas are incorporated for taxis, BRT, and buses, while maintaining much of the landscaped area in the plaza in front of the station.
