Dubai Waterfront and Palm Jebel Ali Water Transport Terminals

Dubai, UAE

OTC led the concept planning and design of water transport terminals for this new development, to be located on new islands and canals planned for 1.5 million residents. Different terminal prototypes offer a range of modular capacity options, including convenient intermodal connections to taxis, buses, light rail and metro, and car parking, as appropriate for each location. The terminals are designed to accommodate both water taxis and water buses and provide air-conditioned concourses and waiting areas. Prototypes include Urban Stops, Suburban Park & Ride, Suburban Intermodal Hub, and Promenade Stop.

As part of the project, marine terminal design criteria were developed for the main Urban Hub at Waterfront City, the main CBD in the development, which will also serve offshore ferries and be integrated with two metro lines.
