Presidente Vargas BRT Terminal

OTC developed concept designs for the terminal of the Transbrasil BRT line in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. The 350m-long facility, which occupies a prominent location along Avenida Presidente Vargas, will serve as a major gateway for the city’s central business district and will also provide a direct intermodal transfer to the Uruguiana metro station.
Several platform configurations and street sections were developed to explore different models for BRT operations, passenger access, intermodal transfer, and station integration within the urban context.
