Visioning Master Plan

Toluca International Airport

OTC developed a concept master plan for expanding Toluca International Airport. Following the cancellation of the new Mexico International Airport (NAIM), in late 2018, the master plan explored the possibility of using existing land reserves to significantly expand Toluca to serve as Mexico City's second airport, in a three-phase midfield development which could bring capacity up to 50MPPA and beyond.

OTC also developed a concept design for rail interchange at the Lerma stop on the Toluca-Mexico City suburban line, at the time beginning construction, which would offer seamless connections to the airport terminal complex via a short APM line.
