Zaragoza Intermodal Hub (CETRAM)

Mexico City, Mexico

OTC developed the mobility master plan and concept design for the redevelopment of CETRAM Zaragoza, an intermodal hub built around the Zaragoza station on Metro’s Line 1. The planned complex, a TOD to be developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme, ties the existing station with an expanded and improved facility for city and suburban buses, a new, elevated intercity coach terminal, a new BRT station, and a multi-level commercial development, served by an underground parking, a taxi and private vehicle drop-off/pick-up area, and service vehicle circulation and loading/unloading.

OTC’s design carefully aligned all mobility elements with structure, vertical circulation elements and building systems, creating an efficient and user-friendly movement system, for both pedestrians and vehicles, improving the urban environment while still supporting a significant commercial development on this unusually compact site.

OTC also developed the design for a provisional bus terminal for the site, to serve existing services during the construction period.
