San Lázaro Intermodal Hub (CETRAM)

Mexico City, Mexico

OTC developed the mobility master plan and concept design for CETRAM San Lázaro, an intermodal hub redevelopment project located on the east edge of the Historic Center of Mexico City, adjacent to the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros Oriente (TAPO), one of Mexico City’s most important intercity bus terminals.

OTC’s design included new operational areas and platforms for local buses, Metrobús (BRT) Lines 4 and 5, and taxis, an enhanced paid transfer connection between Metro Line 1 and Line B, and new intermodal links between all the modes and the long-distance buses from the TAPO. Different concept alternatives were studied, including various degrees of integrating commercial development in and around the CETRAM. The construction works were carried out between 2020 and late 2023.

OTC also planned the provisional bus terminal facilities which were built between 2017 and 2018, and were in operation since then and until November 2023, when the rebuilt CETRAM opened to the public.
