Transit Hub Assessment

Beijing, China

OTC conducted an evaluation of the design and performance of recently-built and currently planned intermodal transit hubs in Beijing, consisting mostly of regional rail, metro, and bus services, including a benchmark comparison to international best practice in Hong Kong and Madrid, Spain, and recommendations for the next 5-Year Plan.

The study, commissioned by the Energy Foundation for the Mayor of Beijing, addressed intermodal transfer routes, provision for expansion, architectural design, operations, and maintenance issues, and included an in-depth analysis of Level of Service using OTC’s Level of Service Assessment Tool.
