Tongzhou New Town Master Plan and Transport Hub

Beijing, China

OTC provided transit-oriented master planning concepts and developed concept plans for a new intermodal transport hub in this new urban development around the new center of Tongzhou, on the east side of Beijing, the first of 11 satellite towns planned for the capital city.

Adjustments were proposed to the currently-planned metro and BRT line structure and station locations, to improve city-wide connectivity and optimize alignment with land uses.

The transport station planning provides comfortable routes for intermodal transfers as well as integrated commercial facilities. An alternative metro line alignment was proposed which would allow same-level transfers between metro lines, as well as direct transfers between metro and buses in an underground station.
